Gelang galas dan elemen gelek biasanya menggunakan keluli galas kromium karbon tinggi GCr15(Jadual 1).
Komposisi kimia GCr15 mempunyai spcifications seragam di seluruh dunia. Cth.American AISI 52100,Jerman DIN100Cr6,Jepun SUJ2.
Ia juga menggunakan keluli tahan karat dengan prestasi anti-menghakis yang halus mengikut aplikasi khas.Sila rujuk Tab 2 untuk komposisi kimia.
